Priti Patel calls for stronger action on anti-social behaviour during Stanway Costa Coffee visit
Priti Patel, Member of Parliament for Witham, visited Costa Coffee in Stanway to discuss concerns about anti-social behaviour affecting businesses, employees and customers in the Stanway area.
During the visit, Priti met Costa Coffee’s Senior Corporate Affairs Manager, Matt Panteli, and members of the local team to hear directly about incidents in the local area and wider community.
Discussions focused on the need for stronger action to prevent intimidation, abuse and criminal behaviour, as well as the importance of visible policing and effective cooperation between businesses, Essex Police and local authorities.
Speaking following the visit, Priti Patel MP said:
“Anti-social behaviour is unacceptable and a surge on our local communities. It has a damaging impact on businesses, employees, customers and the wider community, and it must never be dismissed as low-level or harmless.
“I was delighted to meet the team at Costa Coffee to hear directly about their experiences in the local area. I will continue working with Essex Police, local authorities and businesses to press for stronger action, visible policing and a clear response to those responsible for anti-social behaviour in our community.”
