Priti Patel, Member of Parliament for Witham, joined residents, community groups and local volunteer organisations at this year’s Witham Carnival as the popular event celebrated its 50th anniversary.
The annual Carnival is one of the highlights of Witham’s community calendar, bringing together local businesses, charities, clubs, volunteers and residents from across the town. The celebrations included the traditional Carnival procession, with colourful floats and displays prepared by local groups and volunteers.
Priti participated in Carnival judging and watched the stunning procession alongside Witham Town Councillors and local residents. She visited the stalls in the local park and praised the tremendous effort, creativity and community spirit shown by everyone involved in the preparations for the Carnival. The Carnival was organised by the WithamCarnival Committee, with the support of local sponsors, volunteers and participants who worked hard to deliver the landmark 50th anniversary celebrations.

I pay tribute to the many volunteers who gave their time to make the floats look amazing, and to all those who participated and helped to create such a fantastic atmosphere.
