Merry Christmas!
As the year draws to an end, I wish to extend my warmest wishes for the festive season.
This is the time of year when the spirit of Christmas brings us together with family and loved ones, offering moments of joy and reflection on the experiences of the past year and time to celebrate the joy of togetherness.
While Christmas is a season of happiness and goodwill for many, it is also a time to pause and give thanks. We recognise and appreciate those who make great sacrifices in the service and care of others, as well as those whose circumstances may be less fortunate than our own.
I send my warmest wishes to our dedicated emergency workers, from our police officers to our doctors, nurses, and fire and rescue teams, who will continue to serve our communities throughout the Christmas period.
We also hold in our thoughts our brave armed forces and members of our diplomatic corps, many of whom are currently serving overseas. Their courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our country do not go unnoticed, and we keep them in our hearts and prayers as they spend Christmas away from their loved ones.
As we gather with friends and family, whether at home or abroad, let us remember the true spirit of Christmas, one of hope, renewal, and peace.
I wish you all a very happy Christmas.
