Priti Patel, Member of Parliament for Witham, visited Valentine House Care Home in Silver End as part of Open Care Home Week to meet residents, staff and carers and learn more about the support provided at the home.
Valentine House, which is operated by the Black Swan Care Group, provides residential care for up to 50 people, including specialist support for residents living with dementia. The home plays an important role in supporting older people and their families across the local community.
During the visit, Priti toured the home, spoke with residents and thanked staff for their dedication, compassion and commitment to providing high-quality care.

“It was a pleasure to visit Valentine House and spend time with the residents and dedicated members of staff who work hard every day to provide compassionate and high-quality care. Care homes are an essential part of our communities, providing security, dignity and specialist support to residents while also giving reassurance to their families.
“Open Care Home Week is an important opportunity to recognise the professionalism and commitment of carers and staff. I would like to thank everyone at Valentine House for the warm welcome and for the outstanding contribution they make to the Silver End community.”
