Priti Patel, Member of Parliament for Witham, recently visited the McDonald’s restaurant at Tollgate Centre shopping park in Stanway to meet with CGN Restaurants Ltd franchise owner Craig Newnes and his executive team to discuss how the restaurant has developed over the years and its engagement within the local community.
Priti was hosted by Craig Newnes, where she was given a tour of the restaurant’s facilities and kitchen, seeing firsthand the efficiency of operations and the processes behind the restaurant’s fast service delivery. Priti also met with Craig’s executive team, discussing their commitment to supporting local employment, skills development, and creating a family-focused restaurant.
Following the visit, Priti said:
“It was a pleasure to visit the McDonald’s restaurant in Stanway and meet with franchise owner Craig Newnes. I was pleased to hear about his strong focus on staff retention and support, and to see his commitment to delivering quality service while creating a welcoming environment for families.
"Franchises such as Craig’s play an important role in our local economy, operating 10n restaurants across Essex, creating job opportunities and supporting people as they develop valuable skills. Craig is a dedicated business owner who takes great pride in supporting his staff and maintaining a welcoming and family focused environment.
"However, businesses continue to face increasing pressures from this Labour Government, which is making it harder to hire local people and preventing growth for our local economy. I have always been vocal in supporting local businesses, ensuring they have the conditions needed to grow, invest, and provide jobs for local people.”
