Priti Patel, Member of Parliament for Witham, recently visited Hobbs Estates Ltd at Earls Colne Business Park to meet with estate managers and local tenant businesses.
Hobbs Estates is a family-run property company with over 60 years’ experience, who provide flexible commercial and industrial space across Essex and Suffolk. At Earls Colne, the business park is home to around 40 companies employing approximately 1,500 people. The site, located on a former WWII airfield, plays a crucial role in supporting local employment and supply chains.
Speaking during the visit, Priti said:
“Earls Colne Business Park is a fantastic example of how well-managed estates support small firms, create jobs, and help our regional economy to thrive. Hobbs Estates has been a key anchor for businesses in this part of Essex for decades, and I was delighted to meet with local employers to hear about the successes and challenges they face under this Labour government.”
The visit included a tour of the site and discussions on planning, infrastructure, energy costs, and skills.
