Priti Patel, Member of Parliament for Witham, visited SureCare Colchester & Braintree to see first-hand the vital domiciliary care services they provide across the local community.
During the visit, Priti met with Mr Halim ur Rashid, Director & Principal of SureCare and the regional manager to discuss the growing need for localised health and social care provision and how care providers and local authorities can work together to support the care of local residents who receive domiciliary care.
SureCare Colchester & Braintree has been providing community-based care across the Colchester and Braintree area for over two years, supporting local families and assisting patients being discharged from hospitals.
Speaking after the visit, Priti Patel said:
"I was pleased to visit SureCare Colchester & Braintree and see the incredible work they are doing to support local families. Every patient deserves high-quality care close to home, and I will encourage the local NHS and county council to work with SureCare to deliver and expand community care provision locally."
The visit also highlighted the wider challenges facing care providers, including staffing shortages, complex funding procedures, and the need for localised, dedicated care teams to meet increasing demand.
Priti Patel will continue to work with SureCare, the CQC, and Essex County Council to ensure that local residents have access to safe, high-quality care services.
