Priti Patel MP had the pleasure of visiting Cabello Hair Salon on Witham high street, to discuss the very serious challenges facing high street retailers and the hairdressing sector following the Labour government’s tax increases on business and jobs.
Priti met with Kat Beale the owner of Cabello salon in Witham who has run her business for over a decade to discuss the impact of Labour’s policies on her salon including the pressures small businesses are facing, from rising employment costs to soaring taxes, and the damaging impact these policies are having on local enterprises.
The discussion highlighted the vital role small businesses play on our high streets, the employment challenges, and the growing concern that Labour’s policies are putting their future at risk. Priti reiterated that only the Conservatives have a clear plan to back businesses, support high streets and deliver the jobs and growth that local communities depend on.
Speaking after the visit, Priti said:
“I was delighted to visit Kat’s salon as I’ve seen her hard work and dedication over the last ten years and how she has grown and developed her incredible business. It is heartbreaking to hear of the challenges she and other small business are facing, as I know how hard it is to establish a business and deal with the relentless pressures business owners face as they seek to work hard work to build a strong local business.
Salons like Kat’s are at the heart of our communities, yet they are being hit hard by Labour’s job-destroying policies, rising employment costs and ever-increasing taxes.
Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and it is deeply concerning that Labour are putting their future at risk. Only the Conservatives have a clear and credible plan to support our businesses, protect our high streets and deliver the jobs and growth our communities need.”
