Witham MP Priti Patel has welcome action being taken by Maldon District Council to tackle an unauthorised development on a site just off of Maldon Road, near Conduit Lane and Post Office Road in Woodham Mortimer. The site has had a long and complex planning history with developments taking place without consent. The enforcement notice issued requires stored materials and a mobile home on the site to be removed within one month and other unauthorised works, including hardstanding and boundary treatments, to be removed within three months. Priti, who have been pressing the Council for action and supporting residents who have faced disruption from this development, said:
"This enforcement notice has been a long time coming. While it is welcome that the Council is using its powers to take action, for too long local residents in this area have faced disruption and suffered from development and actions on this site. I expect this notice to be followed through with robust action."
