Witham’s MP Priti Patel recently spoke in debates in Westminster Hall and in The House of Commons regarding the Government’s plans to introduce VAT on independent schools’ fees. Labour put up their Treasury Minister to respond to both debates and Priti asked him what impact assessments had been drawn up alongside this policy and if the government will publish them, to show the real cost to Labour illogical policy. As well as the increased pressure it will put on local authorities who are already struggling with SEND provision, if independent SEND schools are included in this policy.
